Fraction to Decimal
Decimals represent part of a whole, just like fractions! For that reason, all fractions can be written as a decimal (and vice versa).
Review the two methods for turning a fraction into a decimal:
METHOD 1: Find an equivalent fraction with a denominator of 10, 100, or 1,000 by multiplying or dividing numerator and denominator by the same number. Then you can rewrite the fraction as a decimal.

METHOD 2: The fraction bar that seperates the numerator and denominator can stand for DIVIDE. To change from a fraction to decimal, DIVIDE the numerator by the denominator using long division.

A Few to Remember...
Here a few fraction --> decimals to keep in mind!
1/4 = 0.25 (think of a quarter of a dollar, or 25 cents)
1/2 = 0.50 (think of half a dollar, or 50 cents)
3/4 = 0.75 (think of three quarters of a dollar, or 75 cents)
1/4 = 0.25 (think of a quarter of a dollar, or 25 cents)
1/2 = 0.50 (think of half a dollar, or 50 cents)
